you ever used a compass? It’s a handy device for determining where
you are and where you want to go. A compass is useful when you’re
trying to choose the best path to a particular destination. If you’re
lost in the woods or drifting out to sea, a compass can save your life by
pointing you in the right direction.
Over the course of your life, you have developed an inner compassan innate navigational tool that is governed by your unique combination of intellect, common sense, intuition, knowledge, experience and spirit. These components, all working together, help you evaluate and respond to the circumstances of life.
• Intellect is your ability to learn, reason and create.
• Common sense is your natural wisdom or judgment.
• Intuition is your power to sense things that aren’t linked to rational thought.
• Knowledge is your understanding based on information.
• Experience is your understanding based on events in your life.
• Spirit is the force that animates you; your soul or psyche.
Your inner compass serves many functions. It helps you evaluate what others tell you. It steers your emotions in constructive directions. It guides you in making the hundreds of decisions you face every day. Let’s call this innate guidance system your LifeCompass. It is a primary tool for finding your way to personal excellence as a leader.
There are seven personality traits let’s call them forces - that influence your LifeCompass and keep it pointed in the right direction. These forces are: integrity, humility, positivity, sensitivity, tenacity, creativity, and authority. I present a teleclass and a half-day or full-day workshop on how to use your LifeCompass effectively.
Like any mechanism, your LifeCompass is useless without the knowledge and skill to use it effectively. That’s where I come in. I can help you understand, develop and use your LifeCompass to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself and your career or business.
As your coach, I can help you employ the values, intelligence and talents you already possess to plot a course to specific objectives in your personal and professional life. With my help you can set significant goals, build new skills, solve problems and deepen your insights into yourself and others.
Occasionally, your LifeCompass can get a little rusty. Suddenly, you find yourself making bad decisions, clashing with family, friends and colleagues, questioning your direction in life. I’ll equip and encourage you to overcome the interferences that are holding you back or dragging you down. Together we’ll polish your thinking process, fine-tune your communications skills and lubricate your imagination so that you can get what you want out of life and become the leader you were meant to be.
British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli once said, The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own. That is my goal as your coach.
